World Environment Day celebrated at Aditya Degree College, Kakinada

World Environment Day celebrated at Aditya Degree College, Kakinada. Giving this information, the Academic Coordinator Shri BEVL Naidu said that the day is observed with the theme for 2015 for World Environment Day i.e., ‘One World, One Environment’. He on this occasion planted several saplings and opined that people should not neglect the Environment. He said that such negligence leads to Global warming, the effect of which is seen in the last few months. He on this occasion said that every citizen of India should take the responsibility in protecting the Environment. Plant one sapling and make others plant another is the slowgun used to promote plantation. He also said that the use of plastics has been tremendously increased and one should look for alternative to plastics. He said that he is feeling happy to complete the responsibility of planting saplings and want to do the same for coming years too.

The Vice Principal of Aditya Degree College, Dr. Maniprakash Aravelli gave a call that ‘Wastage of food should be reduced and food should be properly used’. He said that Aditya Educational Institutions are following this. He opined that citizens should join with Government to reduce the food wastage in hostels, vegetable and fruit markets. He asked to give special attention towards home made foods rather than the junk foods available on streets. The detailed information on the World Environment Day celebrations is placed on Library notice board for creating awareness about Environment he added.

The Secretary of Aditya Educational Institutions, Shri NK Deepak Reddy appreciated the NSS teams as well as the college staff members organised the plantation programme on the eve of World Environment Day. The NSS programme officers Shri T. Tejeswara Rao and Shri L. Divakara Rao, all the Head of the Departments and NSS student volunteers.
