IGNITE-2K17, A State Level Physics Symposium @ Aditya Degree College, Gopalapatnam, Visakhapatnam

Students who are pursuing Physics, a subject which comes in importance, next only to Mathematics, have exhibited their ideas. Physics students of various colleges of the city have presented their ideas. They have exhibited number of models and presented various possibilities for the production of electricity. They also discussed about how electricity must be used wisely taking into consideration the growing population. They informed about how electricity can be generated from nature. They have displayed many models like, electricity being produced from moving vehicles, wind and so on. A few others made the public think about their innovative and different ideas. Youth have enthusiastically presented their ideas in the State Level Physics Symposium, which was organized by the Management of Aditya Degree College, Gopalapatnam on Friday, 8th of September at Kumari Kalyana Mandapam.

 

Participation with a great competitive spirit:

The girls of Aditya Degree College, Gopalapatnam have exhibited a model in which the process of producing electricity from speed breakers is shown and a model in which how street lights can be lit up with the help of sensor energy. One more batch of students have shown the functioning of air cooler without the help of water or snow. They also explained about the way in which steam can be produced from the water when sun light falls through glass on water and in turn how it can be used to move turbines to produce electricity. The students of R.K. College, Vizianagaram have exhibited a model in which a fire engine can move on two wheels especially in a place where there is a lot of traffic.

In the same way they have shown the way to prevent buildings from collapsing during earth quakes by using hydraulic clutches. The students of Malkapuram Degree Colleges have shown the way in which eco-friendly electricity can be produced. Students of Aditya Degree College, Vizianagaram have shown the process in which electricity can be generated from the water and air which are not being used enough. Aditya Degree College students from Srikakulam have shown how electricity can be produced from air. Aditya Degree College students from Kakinada have presented the way in which boat can be driven smartly by using solar and wind energy. Some students showcased their talent by participating in Poster Presentation and Power Point Presentation.

An opportunity to conquer the world

Dr. M.V. Suryanaraya garu Senior Scientist at BARC addressed students that by excelling in Physics and Maths one can conquer the world and by mastering Physics, one can succeed in a number of fields. He inaugurated this State Level Physics Event “Ignite-2K17”. He reminded about the importance of Physics. He said that the students who do well in Physics can become Group – I employees and Scientists. Dr. K Suribabu garu, Scientist at NSTL opined that Physics plays a vital role in the field of Defence. Principal of Aditya Degree College, Gopalapatnam presided over the function and addressed the audience by saying that students are giving more importance to cell phones and social media instead of books. So there is an occurrence of so many unexpected situations in youth. H.O.D. of Physics Mr. P.A.V.S. Ganesh and senior lecturer Ms. P Satyavathi and Ms. L Lalithamma were also present at the event.

They stand as Victors:

In this State Level Physics Event “Ignite-2K17” 800 students from 22 colleges participated and have exhibited 70 projects from which the project exhibited by St Ann’s students grab the first prize while Aditya Degree College students of Gajuwaka won second prize for Projects. In Poster Presentation students from R.K. Degree College, Vizianagram got the first prize and Aditya Degree College students of Vizianagram got second prize and. Students of St. Joseph’s, Gnanapuram got first prize in P.P.T. and Aditya Degree Colleges students of Gajuwaka got second prize in the same. In Quiz competition Aditya Degree Colleges students of Asilmetta got first prize and Aditya Degree College students of Gajuwaka got second prize. J Manjula of Aditya Degree College, Vizianagram got first prize in JAM and second prize was bagged by P. Roshini of Aditya Degree College, Srikakulam. Principal of Aditya Degree College, Gopalapatnam distributed Prizes and certificates to the prize winners.
