National Statistics Day observed at Aditya Degree College, Kakinada

            National Statistics Day observed at Aditya Degree College, Kakinada. Giving this information, the Academic Coordinator of Aditya Degree and PG Colleges, Shri BEVL Naidu said that every year 29th June will be observed as National Statistics Day in remembrance of Prof (Late) Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis. He also stated that this tradition is being practiced since 2007 and this is 7th time this day being observed. He also said that the theme set for this year is : Labour and Employment Statistics. He also informed that this day is being celebrated all over India by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. He appreciated the students and the staff members of the Statistics for conducting the programme.

The Head of the department of Statistics of Aditya Degree College Shri KINS. Vara Prasad said that in the remembrance of the great professor this National Statistics Day is being observed and he also said that 2013 is already declared as “International Year of Statistics”.  He said on this occasion, Quiz and Essay writing competitions were conducted for the degree students and the prize winners were given away with prizes through the hands of Academic Coordinator Shri BEVL Naidu. In Essay writing competition Ms. M.Keerthana and K. Sirisha won First prizes and Ms. P.S.S. Yamini won second prize. In Quiz competition Ms. M. Keerthana, Mr. R. Swaroop and Ms. B. Durga Bhavani and Mr. T. Pavan Satyakrishna won First prize.

The Secretary of Aditya Educational Institutions Shri NK Deepak Reddy and the Director of Aditya Educational Institutions Smt. N. Suguna Reddy congratulated the prize winners of Aditya Degree Colleges and specially appreciated the efforts of the Head of the Department of Statistics and also the participating students of the programme.

The Vice Principal of Aditya Degree College Dr. A. Maniprakash and the Principal of ADitya Degree College Ms. K. Karuna, the faculty member of statistics Ms. N. Dharanisri congratulated the prize winners.
