Facilities
The department boasts of well-equipped state-of-the-art laboratories that impart practical training to supplement theoretical knowledge.
Students can enrich their knowledge through various simulation packages i.e., CATIA, ANSYS,NASTRAN,IDEAS, PRO-E,UNIGRAPHICS etc.,
Students have access to E-resources i.e.,NPTEL video lectures,MIT OpenCourseWare, ASME,IEEE,ELSEVIER Journals & periodicals.
Our Students
Have practical knowledge and experience, through the laboratory courses, internships and various projects. Students are exposed to the latest developments in technology through participation in Technical Festivals in various premiere institutions, lectures and seminars by experienced professionals from the industry and by eminent researchers from other institutes. MESA (Mechanical Engineering Students Association) is responsible for organizing technical festival(VEDAIGNITE), lectures & workshops by eminent personalities. MESA seeks to be an active organization of the department which promotes their career interests.
Careers
The department is organizing internship program for the students in every summer with the coordination of eminent industries like SRMT, RAK Ceramics, Sri Ramdas Paper Board Ltd., Bhavani Casting Ltd etc. As a part of Main project, students executed very useful projects such as Solar Powered Wheel Chair, LPG Bike, Reaping Machine etc.,
The department is continuing its services through its workshop in manufacturing various infrastructural needs of the college i.e., Drawing tables & stools, Glow sign boards and many more.
