1. What is the new JEE Main 2019?
As per the latest notification released by exam conducting authority, Paper-1 of the JEE Mains 2019 will entirely be in computer-based mode, whereas Paper-2 of JEE Main 2019, Mathematics and Aptitude Test will be computer-based and Drawing will be an offline mode.
2. Who are eligible?
Candidates who have passed their class 12th or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2017, 2018 or those who appearing class 12th or any equivalent examination in 2019 are eligible to appear in JEE Main examination be held in January and April 2019 as well.
3. How many attempts can I give in JEE Main?
The norm is twice a year. One in January and one in April.
4. How can I apply for JEE Main-2019?
Application form for JEE Main 2019 can be submitted only through online website www.nta.ac.in. Keep the details ready before submission of the form.
5. Can a diploma student apply for JEE Main 2019?
Technically a diploma students can appear for JEE Main but only for the purpose of qualifying to appear for JEE Advanced. They cannot take admissions in the NITs, or the IIITs as diploma candidates are not eligible for these admissions.
6. What will be the level of difficulty of JEE Mains paper if NTA conducts it?
The level of difficulty of questions is something one can not predict because NTA will conduct JEE Main twice. So, we expect the questions to be the difficult side to filter out the best students. And, one can not totally say about the difficulty level. Even with CBSE, the level of difficulty fluctuated over the years.
7. Is it mandatory to give the exam twice or can I give one? If I give the exam both the times, which score will be considered?
Absolutely No, this is the candidate’s choice. Whether he/she gives one or two attempts is entirely up to them. In case they attempt both the exams, the better one of two scores will be considered for ranking in the merit list
8. What happens if the candidate missed booking the time slot for online-based examination?
The random time slot will be allotted to the candidates who forget to enter the time slot for online examination. Details will be available on the admit card.
9. Can I give my third attempt in the year 2019?
Yes. JEE Mains allows candidates for consecutive attempts. Thus, if you have a gap after the second attempt, allows taking the third attempt as well.
10. I don’t have 75% in my Class XII? Can I appear for JEE Main 2019?.
Yes, you can appear. But, the problem may come during admissions. Whereas, admissions to NITs, GFTIs and IIITs are open to those who have qualified in JEE Main 2019, and have 75% or more in their class 12 or are in the top 20 percentile of their board.
11. If a student failed in Class 12 and appeared for the exam again. Can he/she apply for JEE Main 2019?
Yes. If the student satisfies the 12th standard qualifying year and date of birth specified by the authorities, then they will be eligible to apply for JEE Main 2019.
