Biotechnology and its Application

Biotechnology is to develop the technology of products for the welfare of human beings such as Therapeutics, Diagnostics, processed food, waste management, Energy production, genetically crops etc.

The Applications of Biotechnology is shown in above diagram.

There are three critical research areas of biotechnology, i.e

• Providing the best catalyst in the form of an improved organism usually a microbe or pure enzyme.
• Creating optimal conditions through engineering as a catalyst to act, and
• Downstream processing technologies to purify the protein / organic compound.
