JEE Main (2020) Postponed: How you can use this time to prepare effectively from home
The Government has postponed competitive exams like NEET and JEE Mains due to the COVID-19 outbreak which in fact, has given extra time for students to prepare for entrance exams.
With self-isolation and social distancing being cited as the only and most effective way to deal with COVID-19, there is a need for students to find ways that make most of their time to prepare well for the examinations.
The schools and educational institutions closure (due to the COVID-19 outbreak) disrupt the preparation activities, especially for the competitive exams like NEET or JEE. Because classroom teaching has come to a grinding halt, students are now looking for ways that can help them ensure the continuity of learning.
Therefore, Edignite here offers the tips to prepare successfully for the postponed JEE Main 2020.
How you can use this time to prepare for JEE Main 2020 effectively from home?
The IIT JEE exam 2020 is just a few months away and you are still at home with no coaching? Here are some simple ways you should follow in your preparation for JEE Main at home.
-
Parental Guidance
Generally, parents complain that they do not get enough time to spend with children and followup on their study patterns. But now, parents could actually play an important role in helping their children to relax, to work on a proper study schedule and keep up the timeline. Since most of the parents would be available at home, students can get help from their parents in a much better way.
-
Make your strength stronger
This is not the time fo focus on any new topic or the topics you are weak at. Concentrate on the subjects and chapters you are more confident. Try to answer maximum questions from these chapters and make them stronger. Revise 11th standard topics first as 12th standard topics were learned for the board exam preparation.
-
Solve Mock tests
Edignite suggests that you should solve mock tests every day, as it is important to analyze the concepts you were wrong and not repeating the same mistakes again. After revising each chapter, concentrate more on the questions that have been asked in previous JEE Main papers. While solving mock tests, make sure you are not disturbed which reduces your anxiety on the exam date.
-
Balancing subjects
What subject should I concentrate on more? This is a repeated question which JEE students ask every year. However, Edignite says that it is time to concentrate on your favourite subject. Since the JEE main exam is equally divided between the three subjects and your idea is to score maximum marks. So focus more on your favourite subject to improve your score.
-
Sleep well and relax
It is important to sleep well and relax during the time of the JEE Main exam preparation. As the JEE Main 2020 exam is postponed and you were already prepared for the exam, you may get enough time to revise your subjects. Do not study long hours, take small breaks. Just relax and stay afresh.
-
Do not discuss
Remember, do not discuss your preparation strategy with your peers during this time. Each one would have a different strategy and don’t try to follow other’s strategies. Make your own and stick to it. This is because discussing your preparation with others would make you lose self-confidence.
-
Ready to accept the changes
All your preparation may go wrong on the examination day as you do not know what the paper is going to be. Read the instructions carefully as the pattern of examination may be changed so be ready to accept it. Do not fight with tough questions. Attempt your favourite subject first and keep your weak subject in between. This order of attempting the JEE exam helps gain confidence.
-
Never give up
You don’t have to prove that you are a subject expert, the most important thing is, to pass JEE Main with maximum marks and get admission in reputed institutions. Do not get depressed if you have not performed well in the examination. Just go with a positive attitude and you may come out successfully.
Edignite wishes you All the Best!
