National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) conducted by the Government of India every year is one of the most prestigious national level talent tests in India. This exam conducted for class X students aims at identifying the future scientists and the young master brains. It comprises two stages : the Stage 1 conducted by SCERT, the Stage 2 conducted by NCERT. Only a handful of students across the country succeed in clearing two stages and bagging the scholarship of Rs. 12,000/- p.a. The scholarship continues till the completion of post-doctoral studies reaching upto 6 lakhs during the tenure.
Kishor Vigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), also called the Young Scientist Award, is a prestigious scholarship awarded to exceptionally meritorious students by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The selection is done by the IISc - Bangalore, IIT - Mumbai and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR). The scholarship ranges from Rs. 4,000/- to Rs. 8,000/- along with book grants and continues till Ph.D. adding upto 12 lakhs. The student is eligible to appear for the exam if he scores more than 80% in aggregate in 10th standard.
