DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
The Department equips its students with the ever evolving knowledge base of Information Technology & Management. It integrates best industry practices as for IT is concerned with respect to data management, security & communication. To help the student survive on a global platform, the curriculum includes communication skills, programming skill dev, industry tours & mentor sessions to enable practical & real time learning.
Activities of the Department
The department regularly conducts seminars, workshops and quiz competitions to nurture technical skills and to improve the knowledge in the fast developing IT field. Co-curricular activities conducted are CRT Program, Infosys Campus Connect, Regular Student counselling, Expert lectures, E- Material, NPTEL Video lectures. Various clubs have been initiated to mine the flair and Internal Skills from the students.
Faculty strength
The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty members with good mixture of Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors, whose areas of expertise and research include Network Security, Mobile Computing, Data Mining, Embedded Systems and Semantic Web.
Laboratories and Facilities
The department provides extensive computing resources for research and education. These systems are in the range of Linux, Windows and Windows terminals and a good number of laptops. All the laboratories are well networked with Internet facilities.

• Key Distribution over Wireless Sensor Networks
• A Novel Approach for Intrusion Detection using Swarm Intelligence Algorithms
• Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Performance Analysis, QoS measures to minimize Packet Loss, and Identifying link failures during Transmission
• Fuzzy Logic-Retrieval of Data from Database
Industrial Orientation
The Department is accredited with TCS. It has internship with Tech Mahindra, Infotech, ALDATA Solutions, Miracle Software Solution and also with STPI. The department has conducted programs like “Mission 10X” by WIPRO, Faculty Enablement program by Infosys for the faculty to facilitate students to learn the latest technologies and make them Expertise in IT.
