DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering strives to contribute to the state, nation, and world through the education of outstanding professionals and leaders in engineering. Our educational focus is on a broad, rigorous education in all areas of electrical and electronics engineering with significant hands-on experiences. The program will provide students with an understanding of engineering problem-solving at all levels and an appreciation for engineering as a profession.
Academics
The B.Tech degree programme in Electrical & Electronics Engineering is the application of the principles of electricity to develop machines, devices, and systems, which significantly affect the quality of life. The ever-growing demand for power and the integration of utilities into national grids brings in complexities that today’s engineers should be equipped to meet.
The M.Tech (Power Electronics & Drives) Degree programme is to train competent engineers and professionals to meet the needs of industries related to power electronics and drives, power electronics applications in power systems, and the transportation sector.
Faculty
The department has well-experienced and dedicated faculty members with technical and supporting staff. The faculty has sound knowledge in emerging areas like power quality, power electronics and drives, power systems, Flexible AC Transmission systems, & Smart Grid. The faculty also ensures high standard lecture courses and provides excellent opportunities for challenging and stimulating environment for the students.
Laboratories & Facilities
The department has well-equipped laboratories with the latest equipment like Schrage motor, cascade transformers etc.. and technical software like MATLAB & P-Spice.
Career Scope
Every student in summer should undergo internship training in various power plants like Reliance, GMR, GVK, VTPS, and also in Bommuru Power Grid Station. Electrical engineers are involved in channeling energy and electrical current to use for humanity such as heating, lighting, home appliances, transportation, and communication. Studying EEE will lead to potential careers in the areas of R&D, Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution Sectors.
