WORLD CANCER DAY OBSERVED AT ADITYA DEGREE COLLEGE FOR WOMEN,KAKINADA

Aditya Degree college for women, Smt.K.Karuna said that World Cancer Day observed by Aditya Degree College for wome. on this day, fruits and Glucose packets distributed to the cancer patients and needy in the Government Hospital in Kakinada. The NSS student volunteers along with the NSS programme officer Kum.P.Lakshmi Bhuvana visited the Government Hospital and distributed the fruits to the Cancer patients.

On this Ooccasion,The Academic Coordinator of Aditya PG&Degree colleges,Sri B.E.V.L.Naidu said that To raise awareness about cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment, World Cancer Day is celebrated on February 4 every year. The theme for this year is ‘Not beyond us’, that highlights the fact that there are many practical things that can be done as individuals and as communities to reduce the burden of cancer.He also said that number of seminars, workshops and discussions were held at different hospitals of the provincial metropolis to raise awareness among the masses about the deadly disease. According to health professionals, prevention offers the most cost-effective and long-term strategy for the control of cancer.

The Secretary of Aditya Educational Institutions Shri N. Krishan Deepak Reddy and the Director Smt. N. Suguna Reddy on this occasion appreciated the efforts of NSS student volunteers and opined that the students should participate in such events to get satisfaction of life. They also opined that while doing such service activities they are also getting satisfaction. On this occasion they appreciated the efforts of the NSS student volunteers.
