The Second Day of the Telugu Literature Day Celebrations was celebrated at Aditya P.G Collge, Kakinada. The Dignitaries garlanded the portrait of Sri.Gidugu Rama Murthy Panthulu and started the program with the lightening of the lamp, the song “Telugu veera levara – Deeksha pooni sagara,” and a classical dance performance.  Smt. S.Suma, the incharge of P.G Campus and the President of the program Stated that today’s youth are attracted towards the western trends and got habituated to the American Culture. It is the responsibility of each and every Telugu citizen to uplift his own Culture and Tradition, which they forgot in the present society. The Chief Guest of the function and a famous writer Dr.Vadrevu Veeralakshmi Devi stated that Gidugu gave a social base to Telugu literature and rendered services to the tribals, especially the Savaras, in Parlakimidi area of Srikakulam agency area and tirelessly worked for the development of tribal languages. He gave Savara language a script and prepared lexicons. The qualities in Gidugu have led people to call “Pidugu” in Telugu, which mean a thunderbolt. She also appreciated the telugu HOD and the faculty of Aditya Degree College for celebrating the 156th birthday celebrations of Sri.Gidugu Rama Murthy Panthulu for three days uplifting the culture and the mother tongue. Later prizes were distributed to the winners of the competitions which were organized as a part of Telugu Literature Day Celebrations. Dr.N.SeshaReddy, Chairman; Sri N.Krishna Deepak Reddy, Secretary, Aditya Educational Institutions, Dr.B.E.V.L Naidu, Academic Director appreciated the Department of Telugu for conducting the program. HOD and the faculty members of the department of Telugu Sri.T.Tejeswararao, Sri.B.Dalinaidu, Sri.P.Venkateswararao, Smt.D.Eswaramma, Smt.Manjula, Librarian and the students participated in this program.
