NATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY @ ADITYA DEGREE COLLEGE, KAKINADA

The National Girl Child Day is celebrated every year with the purpose to spread awareness among people about all the inequalities girls face in the Indian society. The day is celebrated by organizing various programs including awareness campaigns on save the girl child, child sex ratios, and creating a healthy and safe environment for a girl child to live. Dr.B.E.V.L Naidu, Academic Director stated that National Girl Child Day was celebrated at the Praja Vidyalayam School near Gokulam in Kakinada in collaboration with the NSS teams and the Women Grievance Cell of college. He opined that the Girls of today are not at all inferior in this male dominated society and they are even adhering the highest positions in all the fields in this modern world irrespective of their gender. The NSS program officer Sri.T.Tejeswararao stated that National Girl Child Day is celebrated in memory of the oath taking ceremony of Smt.Indira Gandhi as the first Women Prime Minister of India. Later, the NSS volunteers distributed the fruits to the girl students and carried out some of the Recreation programs.Dr. N.Sesha Reddy, Chairman, Sri.N.Krishna Deepak Reddy, Secretary, Aditya Educational Institutions Vice-Principal Sri Ch.V.V.Satyanarayana appreciated the NSS teams. NSS officers Sri.T.Tejeswararao, Sri L.Divakararao, Head of the Women’s Grievance Cell of the college, faculty of Praja Vidyalayam School and the NSS volunteers participated.
