Librarians day observed at Aditya Degree College, Kakinada

The Librarians day is observed at Aditya Degree College, Kakinada. Giving this information, the Academic Coordinator Shri BEVL Naidu said that on the eve of birth anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan the Librarians day is being celebrated. On this occasion he said that according to the view of every writer ‘books are very important entities and they are of great help for the next generation like a knowledge hub’. On this occasion Shri Naidu garlanded the photograph of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan and paid his tributes.

The Chairman of Aditya Educational Institutions Shri N. Sesha Reddy on this occasion paid great tributes to Dr. S. R. Ranganathan for his relentless efforts in developing the Libraries across the country. He on this occasion said that Late Dr. S.R. Ranganathan has done long term research on the processes of Libraries and written many books. Shri Sesha Reddy on this occasion appreciated the Dr. S. R. Ranganahan, who is the reason for the Librarian profession and who also framed the Five laws of Library Science for effective running of libraries.

The Secretary of Aditya Educational Institutions, Shri N. K. Deepak Reddy said that the Libraries are like the links between generations and he opined that Libraries should improve their services according to the changing times.

The Chief Librarian Shri SVR Prabhakar on this occasion gave his wishes to fellow librarians and he said that according to the change in the reader the changes have come in the profession of librarians.

The programme was also attended by the Vice Principal of Aditya Degree College, Dr. Maniprakash, Chief Librarian Shri SVR Prabhakar, Librarians Sri Ch. Nobleson, Shri D. Venkateswara Rao and other participated along with students, faculty members and non teaching members of the Aditya Degree College.
