AWARENESS PROGRAM ON WORLD WETLANDS DAY @ ADITYA DEGREE COLLEGE, KAKINADA

Lands are treated as the Mother who serves food for her people. In connection with motherland the NSS teams has been celebrating the World Wetlands Day on 2nd Feb, every year. This program was organized to create an awareness among the citizens to save their Wetlands. The Guest of Honor Smt.Seemakurti Surekha, President of Dharitri Rakshitha Samithi and CRJD state member, presided over the program by stating that saving the Wetlands and the creatures living on the wetlands is the prime responsibility of every individual. She explained the students about the trees, birds and animals that made them as their source of life. She distributed the prizes for the winners of the Quiz competition that was organised in regard with the program. She also participated and released the poster of the Wetlands under the title “Wetlands and the Change in the Environment” as a part of the program.

Sri Mrutyumjayarao, conservator of birds, explained about the different kinds of Wetlands situated in the different parts of the country. Sri Satyasivanadh, Speicalist in the EGREE foundation communication & out rich informed that the Koringa forest consists of around 34 kinds of Mangrove trees and twenty thousand birds that stand as barriers in preventing the natural calamities like Tsunami and the floods. Sri Srikanth, a member of the EGREE foundation presented a power point presentation on the Wetlands and explained the different consequences of them. Vice President of Dharitri Rakshitha Samithi, Sri P.Eswara rao; Forest Session Officers, Sri E.Sheakar Babu, Sri Kona Mahesh; NSS program officers Sri T.Tejeswararao, Sri L.Diwakararao and the students participated in the program.

Sri N.Sesha Reddy, Chairman; Sri N.Krishna Deepak Reddy, Secretary; Aditya Educational Institutions, Sri B.E.V.L Naidu, Academic Coordinator, Aditya Degree & P.G.Courses; Sri Ch.V.V.Satyanarayana, Vice-Principal, appreciated the NSS volunteers.
