SRI PINGALI VENKAYYA 141ST BIRTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS @ ADITYA DEGREE COLLEGE, KAKINADA

“A flag symbolizes the pride of the nation”. Remembering the 141st Birth Anniversary of Sri Pingali Venkaiah, the freedom fighter from Andhra, who designed the Indian flag, we the Adityans organized the celebrations under the behest of the NSS team at Aditya Degree College. Speaking on the occasion Dr.B.E.V.L Naidu, Academic Director, Aditya Degree & P.G.Courses said that Sri Pingali Venkaiah was born on August 2, 1878 in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, who had published a book in 1916 containing thirty designs of what could make the Indian flag. He also stated that the national flag was designed rectangular with tricolours such as saffron, white and green, with Ashoka Chakra (24-spoke wheel) in navy blue and Venkaiah’s design for the National Flag was finally approved by Mahatma Gandhi in a Congress meeting in Vijayawada in 1921. He advised and suggested the present teachers to tell about such adorable personalities to the present youth as they constitute the Nation Tomorrow.     
Aditya Educational Institutions, Chairman, Sri N.Sesha Reddy; Secretary, Sri N.Krishna Deepak Reddy; Academic Director, Dr.B.E.V.L Naidu appreciated the NSS team for organizing the celebrations of such legends. Aditya Degree College, Vice-Principal, Sri Ch.V.V.Satyanarayana, NSS Program officers Sri T.Tejeswararao, Sri L.Diwakararao, Staff and students participated in this program.
