World Environment Day 2013 observed at Aditya Degree College, Kakinada

World Environment Day was observed at Aditya Degree College, Kakinada. The theme for this year World Environment Day is ‘Think! Eat! Save”. On this occasion a sapling was planted by the Academic Coordinator, Shri BEVL Naidu.  Speaking to the gathering on this occasion, Shri Naidu said that we are much neglecting our own Environment and our carelessness leads to Gloabal warming. He gave a call for the students and the staff members to reduce water, air and noise pollution in order to reduce pressure on Environment. He opined that every person should work with responsibility to protect our mother nature. He also said that mere planting a sapling will not do but it needs to be taken care after planting. He said that he felt happy to learn about Environment and also for planting a sapling on the eve of World Environment Day.

The Vice principal of Aditya Degree College Dr. A. Maniprakash on this occasion said that Aditya Educational Institutions will be on the forefront to conduct such Environmental Awareness programmes. He also said that the theme of 2013 World Environment Day i.e., Think , Eat Save” is apt for present day situation. He also said that people should be made aware about the food wastage. They also should be given with information regarding proper use of food and should think about not only present generation’s food needs but also the food needs of future generations. On this eve the NSS volunteers of Aditya Degree College gave sloguns about Environmental protection. They were also briefed about concepts like different food habits across the world, traditional foods of India and psychological barriers of Indians with regard to food etc.,

On the eve of World Environment Day 2013 the Secretary of Aditya Educational Institutions Shri N.K. Deepak Reddy and the Director of Aditya Educational Institutions Smt. N. Suguna Reddy gave their wishes to the students and opined that with regard to ‘food wastage’ the students should learn and should share the remaining food which is not used. They appreciated the students for participating in the awareness programme regarding the World Environment Day 2013.

This programme was attended by the NSS programme officers Shri T. Tejeswara Rao and Shri L. Diwakara Rao and the teaching and non teaching staff and students.
