WORLD OZONE DAY AWARENESS PROGRAM @ ADITYA DEGREE COLLEGE, KAKINADA

Under the behest of the Aditya NSS teams an awareness program on the World Ozone Day was celebrated at Aditya Degree College, Kakinada. In this contest Dr.B.E.V.L Naidu stated that World Ozone Day was announced to be observed by the UNO every year on September 16th in order to conserve and protect the Ozone Layer in the atmosphere which has been depleting for years because of the pollution caused by the human acts. The Ozone layer upholds the dangerous cosmic rays and the radiations scattered from the Sun and prevent them to reach the Earth’s surface. But this layer which is extended above the atmosphere as a shield is depleting because of the pollution created on the earth. Informing the above information he also advised the students as well as the society to plant more saplings, so that the depleted Ozone Layer with the chemical formula O3, can take up Oxygen molecules given out by the plants and again form into a layer. The HOD of the Life Sciences of Aditya Degree College, G.Rajkumar stated that Oxygen contributes the major element for the mankind to survive on this earth. Due to the pollution caused by the people, the green house gases such as Carbon Dioxide, Nitrous Oxides, Sulphur Oxides and the CFC’s are increasing which made up a way to Global Warming. So, more number of plants has to be planted for the conservation of the life. Later the NSS program officer Sri.T.Tejeswararao had taken the oath from the students on Environment protection and Ozone Conservation. Aditya Educational Institutions, Chairman N.Sesha Reddy; Secretary, Sri N.Krishna Deepak Reddy, appreciated the NSS team for organizing this program.
