Mathematics Day at Aditya Srinagar, ““Geniuses are called so for a reason, they think different , they think better ! One such legendary Indian genius was Dr. Srinivasa Ramanujan. As a way to honor his ingenuity, his Birthday, the 22nd of December is celebrated as “National Mathematics Day” Aditya school , Srinagar has laid a stupendous platform for students to build their knowledge and skills for using Mathematics by organising a programme called Ganitha Ashtavadhanam. It started with lighting the lamp and garlanding the portrait of the renowned Mathematician and then the Aditya school, Srinagar Principal Mr. Ramesh introduced the esteemed guest Mr. T. S. V. S. Suryanarayana Murthy. Teachers acted as prichchakas (stirrers) posed questions to the Avadhani ,Dr. Murthy on different mathematical concepts like samasya puranam (magic box), varagananam (calendar calculations), Dattankam (Digit allocation) , Nishidhankam (Digit prohibition), manassankalanam (mental addition) , Ghanamulam (cube root calculation), Avrutha Dasamsam (Recurring decimal) ,sarasa prasangam.The way Dr. Murthy showed his mastery in Mathematics by answering the questions fascinated the viewers. After the successful completion of Ganitha Avadhnam Sri. Murthy inspired the students with his outstanding speech to develop an interest in the students in finding the solutions for Mathematical problems with their minds rather than using calculators .Mathematics department headed by Principal Mr. Ramesh felicitated Dr. Murthy.The programme was innovative to the students and roused their interest in the art of Mathematics.
